Open your heart to your true being Experience new levels of mindfulness, immediacy and presence as you immerse in awareness, stillness and joyful open heartedness. Replace any kind of struggle with who or how you are, with deep resting in your true nature, which is beyond conditioning, personality, or preference.
Embodiment of wisdomWhen the mind is still and the heart is open, our dentification with habituated egoic patterns fades away as our response to whatever is happening becomes very non-reactive, yet truly more responsive and real.
Irrespective of the retreat duration, you will:
 - Experience direct understanding and immediate application of profound, timeless wisdom.
- Foster deep inner stillness and learn how to generate this in everyday life.
- Recognise and let go of constraining beliefs, emotions and structures.
- Apply engaged mindfulness by expanding awareness of the triggers behind mostly unconscious patterns of behavior.
- Increasingly discover a myriad of ways to integrate unencumbered joyfulness and clarity in your potentially challenging, busy life.
- Open your heart and mind to “not knowing” as a direct means to being present.
- Gain real time, relevant, practical feedback that enables you to remove increasingly subtle blocks to being fully present.
- Receive insightful coaching and feedback regarding your own personal and professional practice.
Responsive and engaging
Each retreat is slightly different as Penny responds to every group according to where they are. She draws on two decades of teaching experience to spontaneously determine which exercises, teaching, amount of activity or silence is appropriate.
In some retreats there is an emphasis on using the wisdom of the Enneagram to enable participants to understand the patterns that grip and distort experience. With applied awareness you learn to apprehend and transcend your patterns leading to freedom and ease.
At other retreats there may simply be the use of very organic, non-definitive methods that enable you to naturally release over-identification with persistent thoughts, beliefs, feelings and patterns.
Either way, there is an ever-deepening appreciation of loving-kindness for yourself and others co-joined with blissful inner stillness and non-reactivity, resulting in a clarity of mind often sought, rarely lived.

Beyond Mindfulness: Deeper Where We Stand, JULY 27/28, Wellspring Centre, Ashburton

MINDFULNESS is a well-known Buddhist technique that helps alleviate stress and anxiety, increasing presence and joy in our lives. Buddhism also offers profound ways of being and understanding that go beyond Mindfulness. Within Tibetan and other tantric Buddhist traditions are “practices” and ways of seeing ourselves and others that transcend method, providing valuable insight and deep healing. This workshop takes you deeply into the heart of presence and joy reducing fatigue and burn out, increasing dexterity and ease in managing life’s challenges.

SATURDAY MAY 4, 2013: THE ENNEAGRAM
The Enneagram describes 9 points of view or “types” with specific ways of seeing thinking, feeling and behaving. It is a brilliant system for uncovering the intricacies of personality, while demonstrating how to liberate ourselves from habitual patterning and conditioning. Unlike other personality systems the Enneagram goes beyond behavioural descriptors, accurately pinpointing our core motivations and stressors, offering practical ways to manage these.
When we recognise our type a huge amount of information becomes available to us. In understanding all nine types, a world of information reveals itself offering an invaluable tool for improving the quality of our personal and professional relationships.
If you want to know yourself and others better, understand how and why we get stuck in habitual patterns and behaviour, and discover how to release yourself from these traps, this workshop is for you. Ideal for both beginners and those with Enneagram knowledge this workshop will provide great insight and tools into the intricacies of personality and how it impacts all of us.

What participants said about the November 27-28, 2010 retreat:
"The
Liberating Joy Retreat has gifted me with the rare
opportunity to experience what it is to be 'fully
present'. Penny offered a fertile space in which I could
explore inner stillness and become reacquainted with my true
nature ... Peace. The weekend was both comfortable but challenging and
allowed me to learn and share with like minded people, as I got to know
my real SELF a lot better! Thank you with loving kindness" ~ Eryka Sklivas, Melbourne
"Thank
you for your beautiful workshop gift. You (Penny) created a gentle and
safe space for everyone to connect with whatever mind thoughts are
holding them back. You were tuned in, aware, respectful and
illuminating. It was a joy and privilege to be a recipient of and
witness to your teaching. I am feeling soft and present. And I had a
great night’s sleep. I loved sharing this with you. Thank you again." ~ Fay Goodchild, Melbourne
